SUBSTANCE: method of browsing history organization in a browser application comprises the following stages: receiving instructions of a webpage open in the browser application; defining the task handled by the user when opening a webpage; and entering webpages into a group of a web browser history non-hierarchically, wherein this group is associated with the task and has the name of the group, indicating the task, wherein the history of the web browser includes a number of groups, each group from a number of groups is associated with the corresponding task, each group from a number of groups includes at least one webpage, at least one webpage of each group from a number of groups is listed non-hierarchically and chronologically within the group. The tasks handled by the user when opening a webpage are defined. Perform on the basis of one of the following: a web page host; a search query that was used to create the search results page (SERP) from which the web page was accessed.
