FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst composition for treating exhaust gas comprising a zeolite material having a structure with small pores and a molar ratio ofsilicon oxide to aluminium oxide (SAR) from 10 to 30; from 1.5 to 5 wt % of the exchanged non-aluminium transition metal, based on the total weight of the zeolite; and at least 1.35 wt % of cerium, based on the total weight of the zeolite. The mentioned cerium is present in a form selected from exchanged cerium ions, monomeric cerium oxide, cerium oligomeric oxide and combinations thereof, provided that the mentioned oligomeric cerium oxide has a particle size of less than 5 mcm. The exchanged non-aluminium transition metal is selected from the group consisting of manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel and copper and mixtures thereof. At least one superlattice metal is copper, and cerium is introduced into the catalyst after the introduction of copper. The invention also relates to a method for treating NOx, which involves contacting the exhaust gas produced by energy-efficient internal combustion engine.
EFFECT: increased catalytic activity of selective catalytic reduction SCR of catalysts at low operating temperatures.
