SUBSTANCE: die contains upper and lower halves with preliminary and final grooves. Each groove has cavities for forming ribs and an interrib portion of the forging. In preliminary groove, the height of one cavity for forming ribs is 1.2-1.5 of one cavity height for forming ribs of the final groove. The height of the second cavity for forming ribs is equal to height of the second cavity for forming ribs of the final groove. The height of the cavity for forming the interrib space of the preliminary groove is 0.8-1.0 of the cavity height for forming the interrib space of the final groove. Between the inclination of cavities for forming the ribs and the bases of cavity for forming the interrib section of the preliminary groove, there is a slope with an angle from 5 to 45°. The length of the slope is 0.2-0.5 of the cavity length for forming the interrib area. The blank is formed in preliminary groove by at least two working strokes of the die. After the first run, the blank is turned by 180 ° along its longitudinal axis.
EFFECT: reduction of forming force.
