FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly manufacture of hollow flanged forgings by die forging. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of upsetting initial blank; forming in open die set hollow semifinished product at making flange bulged portion and boss with bridge; final forming in open die set; forming semifinished product by two stages; at first stage forming flange bulged portion, cavity and solid boss portion. Depth of cavity consists 0.5 - 2.5 of height of flange thickened portion of semifinished product. Volume of boss portion consists 0,9 - 1,1 of volume of boss portion formed at second stage of shaping semifinished product. Boss is formed at second stage by backward extrusion.
