FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: in the stand for investigating acoustic characteristics of the sound-absorbing elements in the reverberation chamber, there is a noise radiation source which is mounted on the floor of the reverberation chamber which is a room with volume from 60 to 1000 m3 with non-parallel inner seals, which surface is a sound reflector. The level of sound power of the tested noise radiation source is determined by measurement results of mean sound pressure on the measuring surface, with acoustic microphones, which are mounted along its contour, which is taken as a semi-sphere. The equivalent acoustic absorption area of the chamber is determined experimentally by measuring the time of room reverberation, i.e. the time during which the level of sound pressure in the room is reduced by 60 dB after the action of the noise radiation source is ceased.
EFFECT: increased measurement accuracy of noise suppression efficiency of investigated acoustic characteristics of new sound-absorbing elements.
