SUBSTANCE: invention relates to industrial acoustics. In the eco-free chamber, in which the sound falling from the object under test is absorbed, the test object is placed onto the floating floor, while the echo-free chamber is placed in a separate building with the foundation, walls, overhead bulkhead, inside of which, on an independent foundation, its walls, the floating floor, on which the test object and a light overhead bulkhead are installed, are placed, the echo-free chamber is hermetically lined on all sides by the newly developed sound-absorbing element, which is to be tested on all the sides, where the sound power level Lp of the test object is determined according to the results of measurements of the average sound pressure level Lcp on its measuring surface, for which the hemisphere S area is assumed, m2, i.e. S = 2πr2, where r is the distance from the center of the test object to the measurement points; S0=1 m2, then the corrected sound power level LpA is determined.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of measuring the efficiency of noise attenuation of the acoustic characteristics of the new sound-absorbing elements under investigation.
