SUBSTANCE: invention involves the use of a superposition of several QAM signals with lower QAM numbers (hierarchical modulation) instead of one quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) with a high number in the communication channel. To achieve the desired energy effect, the QAM signals at the transmitting end are added in a certain proportion depending on the applied types of modulation and noise-immune coding and providing them with a sequential (with subtraction from the superposition signals of the next decoded signal) decoding with a predetermined error probability. In this case, the maximum energy efficiency is achieved if each subsequent signal of the QAM in superposition is shifted relative to the previous one by half the period of the symbol frequency.
EFFECT: increasing the energy efficiency of the channel while maintaining its spectral efficiency.
