FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method includes installation of the rotor in thrust bearings located at its front and rear ends, and on the side of the thrust bearings of gas-static bearing and a conical gas-static bearing with taper of 0.5-20% formed by conical part of the rotor and conical insert which are installed with radial clearance therebetween. The axial movement of the rotor relative to the conical insert is controlled by changing said radial clearance by changing the gas pressure which is fed to thrust bearings through said gas-static bearings.
EFFECT: use of invention makes it possible to simplify the process for controlling the bearing capacity and rigidity of the rotor.
