SUBSTANCE: method for moving the headrest between the working and the retracted position in a vehicle having a front passenger seat and a rear seat, which includes the stages, at which a system is formed, comprising sensors to detect a person occupying the rear seat and a person occupying the front passenger seat and to move the front passenger seat headrest. Said system includes a programmable controller; the vehicle is started, the presence of a person occupying the front passenger seat, and the presence of the person occupying the rear seat are determined; it is determined whether the front passenger seat headrest is in the working position or in the retracted position, and the front passenger seat headrest is moved in the working position, if a person occupying the front passenger seat is detected, or in the retracted position, if a person occupying the front passenger seat is not detected, and a person occupying the rear seat is detected.
EFFECT: automatic movement of a passenger seat headrest.
