FIELD: lighting.

SUBSTANCE: proposed lighting system for illuminating the environment using lighting which imitates natural lighting comprises: the first light source which emits a visible light beam; a scattered light generator, bounded by an inner surface which receives a light beam, and by an outer surface. The scattered light generator is at least partially transparent to the light beam. The scattered light generator permits transmission of at least part of the light beam and emits the visible scattered light through the outer surface, wherein the correlated colour temperature of the transmitted light is lower that the correlated colour temperature of the visible scattered light. The lighting system also includes a dark structure which is optically coupled to the medium by the scattered light generator and provides a substantially uniform background to the first light source.

EFFECT: creating uniform lighting without glare.
