SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for controlling a washing machine, comprising the following stages: (a) determination of the amount of clothing in the inner tank, (b) configuration of the washing process setting based on the amount of clothing determined at the stage (a), (c) water supply into the inner tank and calculation of the time of preliminary water supply necessary for the water level in the outer tank to reach the preset preliminary water supply level, (d) spraying of the water discharged from the outer tank into the inner tank through the circulation nozzle by means of actuating a pump and calculating the change in the water level in the outer tank, when the water is sprayed through the circulation nozzle, (e) adjusting of the washing process setting based on the time of the preliminary water supply calculated at the stage (c) and the change in the water level calculated at the stage (d), and (f) performance of the washing process based on the adjusted setting.
