SUBSTANCE: washing machines and methods for controlling drying with rotation of a washing machine. Washing machine contains an outer tank filled with water, an inner tank that is configured for rotation around a vertical axis of the outer tank and includes an opening for communication with the outer tank at its lower section, and a drainage pump configured to drain water from the outer tank. The washing machine also includes an electric motor capable of transmitting a rotational force to the inner tub, and a control unit configured to control the drainage pump and the electric motor and to perform a rotation drying cycle, including an auxiliary rotation drying cycle and a main rotation drying cycle. The control unit is configured to rotate the motor to increase the rotation speed of the inner tub to a predetermined first target speed during the auxiliary rotation dry cycle to remove moisture from the laundry, to measure the current of the drainage pump to measure the amount of water removed from the laundry during the rotation of the inner tub, with the possibility of measuring the rotation speed of the inner tub when the drainage pump current is increased and then decreased to or below a predetermined reference current value, and with the possibility of changing the predetermined rotation time of the inner tub in the main rotation drying cycle in accordance with the measured rotation speed of the inner tub.

EFFECT: technical result is aimed at increasing the efficiency of energy use and washing time by determining the drainage capacity of the laundry and setting the rotation drying cycle time and the corresponding rotation speed during rotation drying.
