FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: surgical end effector contains the first and the second jaw elements. The first jaw element comprises the first jaw body, the first tissue gripping element, the first clamping plane, the first tissue contacting surface inclined at a positive angle, and the first tissue contacting surface inclined at a negative angle. The first tissue gripping element has a flat tissue-contacting surface. The first tissue contacting surface inclined at a positive angle is inclined by a predetermined angle in a direction from the first clamping plane and in the direction from the first jaw body at the periphery of the first tissue gripping element. The first tissue contacting surface inclined at a negative angle is inclined by a predetermined angle in a direction from the first clamping plane and in the direction to the first jaw body near the periphery of the first tissue gripping element. The second jaw element comprises the second jaw body, the second tissue gripping element, the second clamping plane, the second tissue contacting surface inclined at a positive angle, and the second tissue contacting surface inclined at a negative angle. The second tissue gripping element has a flat tissue-contacting surface. The second tissue contacting surface inclined at a positive angle is inclined by a predetermined angle in a direction from the second clamping plane and in the direction from the second jaw body at the periphery of the second tissue gripping element. The second tissue contacting surface inclined at a positive angle is inclined by a predetermined angle in a direction from the second clamping plane and in the direction to the second jaw body near the periphery of the second tissue gripping element. The first jaw element is movable relative to the second jaw element between the open position and the closed position. At that, the first tissue contacting surface inclined at a positive angle is positioned opposite the second tissue contacting surface inclined at a negative angle, when the first and second jaw elements are in the closed position. The first tissue contacting surface inclined at a negative angle is positioned opposite the second tissue contacting surface inclined at a positive angle, when the first and second jaw elements are in the closed position. The two-opposite inclined tissue contacting surfaces form a common angle with respect to their respective clamping planes.
EFFECT: provision of an opportunity to develop the range of forces necessary for efficient tissue cutting and suturing.
