FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: carbon carriers with a binder are mixed with the addition of water vapour and are compressed into briquettes. At least one of the stages from the group consisting of drying the carbon carriers before mixing, setting the temperature of the carbon carriers subject to mixing with the binder before mixing, heat treatment of the briquettes after pressing is carried out. Drying the carbon carriers before mixing and/or heat treatment of briquettes after pressing and/or setting the temperature of carbon carriers subject to mixing with the binder before mixing are carried out by direct or indirect interaction with overheated water vapour, and spent vapour evolved during interaction is used as at least partial amount of water vapour fed during mixing.
EFFECT: proposed installation and method allow to obtain full-strength briquettes of a specified length, required cross-section and size.
