FIELD: solid fuels. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of industrial woodworking wastes and can be used in fabrication of environmentally safe briquettes for household needs. Wood waste is crushed to fractions no greater than 39 mm in size and dried to 18-20% moisture. A part of resulting mass is converted into charcoal and the other part is crushed into chips 1-8 mm long. The latter are dried in absence of oxygen to 180-210 C until 3-7% moisture is attained. Hot dried chips are mixed with charcoal and resulting mix is preliminarily pressed and then compacted at 190-250 C into briquettes with density 1150-1400 kg/cu.m, which are further covered with protective coating.
