FIELD: geophysics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geophysics and can be used during seismic surveys. Data acquisition device is provided comprising a pair of input terminals configured to be connected to a set of at least one analog seismic sensor generating a useful seismic signal, and a tripout detection means to detect partial or complete tripout of the set of at least one analog seismic sensor. Tripout detection means comprises a means for introducing low current into the set of at least one analog seismic sensor for generating a bias signal partially depending upon the electrical resistance of the set of at least one analog seismic sensor and being added to the useful seismic signal, wherein the bias signal occupies only part of the operating range of the data acquisition device. Tripout detection means also comprises an analog-to-digital converter and a filtering means for converting and filtering the voltage measured on the pair of input terminals in order to obtain a measured value of the bias signal and either a means for analyzing the time variation of the measured value of the bias signal and activating the alarm signal when the predetermined condition is met, or a means for transmitting the measured value of the bias signal to a remote device configured able to analyze the time variation of the measured value of the bias signal and to turn on the alarm when the preset condition is met.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of obtained data is provided.
