SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for methyl methacrylate production from methacrolein in a continuous reaction of oxidative etherification with oxygen and methanol which is carried out in the liquid phase at a pressure of 2 to 100 bar with a heterogeneous catalyst comprising gold-containing nanoparticles on a carrier having a particle size of less than 20 nm, the liquid phase is continuously withdrawn from the reactor and, after recovery, the pH is adjusted to a pH of 5 to 9 by adding a stock solution outside the reactor, and within at least 50% of the recovered liquid phase, characterized by a pH of 5 to 9, is returned to the reactor.
EFFECT: improved method from a technical point of view does not have the disadvantages of the prior technique level.
