FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the manufacture of an aircraft wing design from a fibre reinforced polymer laminate with cross-layers. The composite laminate flooring has a main load axis and comprises a plurality of polymer layers, each of which is reinforced with unidirectional fibres, and includes cross-layers. Each cross-layer has a fibre orientation with an angle in the range of about 10 degrees to about 43 degrees and is optimized to counter bending and torsional loads along the main load axis.
EFFECT: reduction in the weight of the aircraft wing design by 3-5 percent without deteriorating the shear properties of the composite laminate, torsional strength and rigidity.
