FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: evaluate bone fractures healing in rats, digital micrography of the immunohistochemical preparation of the periosteal and intermediate bone callus zone is used in the experiment at different times of the reparative process. Morphometric programs are used to determine the protein content of the intercellular matrix, measuring the areas of the immunohistochemically stained structures in digital images, with subsequent calculation of their relative bulk density in the tissues according to the formula: RBD (%)=(Sa/St)×100 where RBD is relative bulk density, S(a) is the total area of all regions of the analyzed protein St is the total area of digital photomicrography. Relative bulk density values are included into the formula: HI=-7.00041+34.93413×OC+0.46838×Col-I-0.22592×Col-II, where HI is the healing index, OC is the relative bulk density of osteocalcin, Col-I is the relative bulk density of collagen I, Col-II is the relative bulk density of collagen II. With the value of healing index above the control indications at any time from the start of treatment, accelerated dynamics of bone fracture healing is judged.
EFFECT: method allows objective and highly accurate prediction of the osteoreparative process dynamics to evaluate healing of bone fractures in rats at different times of the experiment.
