FIELD: nanotechnologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nanotechnology and can be used in the manufacture of reinforcing additives for composite materials and functional coatings. Carbon catalyst composition is ground to a size of -44 mcm and repulped in water at a ratio of T:Liq = 1:3 with intensive stirring with the speed of rotation of the mixer 200–1000 rpm. Resulting pulp is processed by ultrasound at a frequency of 22–27 kHz for 3–10 minutes. Pulp is then air-conditioned with the addition of acetylene alcohol based flotation reagents. Subsequent extraction of carbon nanotubes from the pulp into the foam product is carried out by flotation. Resulting foam product is treated with a flocculant, concentrated, washed with water, and the precipitate is separated by decantation. Solid phase containing the product of carbon nanotubes is dried at a temperature of 90–200 °C. Extraction of carbon nanotubes into the foam product is 99 % or more, its quality is improved by reducing the amount of impurities and ensuring the integrity and size of nanotubes.
EFFECT: method is simple, technological, allows to reduce quantity of reagents and power inputs.
