LUMINESCENT POLYMER COATING FOR DESIGN DAMAGES DETECTION Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC C09K11/06 C07F5/00 C09D5/22 C09D183/10 G01N21/88

Abstract RU 2644917 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: luminescent coating contains the first indicator layer with a phosphor in the direction from the structure and a second protective covering layer with a working component absorbing UV radiation. The indicator layer comprises a silicone-block copolymer binder in toluene and 1.4 wt % of a phosphor-pivalate europium complex with 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline. The protective layer includes a silicone block copolymer based binder in toluene and dibenzoylmethane as a working component absorbing UV radiation at a concentration of 2-6⋅10-2 mol/l. The coating is obtained by applying the indicator layer, drying at 20-25°C for 8-10 hours, then at 90-100°C for 2-3 hours. The protective layer is applied and dried at 20-25°C for 8-10 hours, then at 90-100°C for 2-3 hours. The number of applied protective layers can vary from 2 to 3. The luminescent coating retains thermal stability in the temperature range from -60° up to +100°C.

EFFECT: invention allows to easily and quickly carry out a visual inspection of the technical condition of structures, including aviation ones, with high accuracy and reliability to detect impact damage on their surface without application of complex equipment, which contributes to flight safety improvement.
