FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of railway transport, in particular to the brake devices of railway vehicles. Axial electromechanical brake contains axial poles, made on the axis of the wheel pair of magnetic material, the electromagnet that is fixed on the frame of the bogie, consisting of the electromagnetic winding wound around the core, at the ends of which the electromagnetic poles are split into two or more electromagnetic poles, which are placed with the minimum working air gap above the axle poles. On both sides of the electromagnetic pole, the position sensors of the axial poles are arranged along the circumference. Sensors are connected by their outputs to the inputs of the control device, which connected by its output to the input of the switching device, which connects the coil of the electromagnet to the power source. Output of braking mode activation command source is connected to the other input of control device. Latch is attached to the frame of the bogie.
EFFECT: increased braking force and the elimination of the consumption of electric power, when the vehicle is stationary, are achieved.
