FIELD: nuclear energy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of nuclear power, in particular to the management of liquid radioactive waste (LRW) with the purpose of their subsequent long-term storage and/or disposal. Method of immobilizing LRW in the phosphate compound involves adjusting the pH level of the waste, introduction of the divalent nickel and potassium ferrocyanide ions into the resulting solution successively with continuous stirring and subsequent solidification of the obtained mixture by means of potassium dihydroorthophosphate and magnesium oxide coupling reagents addition. PH level of the waste is adjusted up to the values pH = 1.8–2.2 by means of adding the aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide at the concentration of 550–650 g/dm3. After the introduction of nickel ions and potassium ferrocyanide, boric acid powder is added.
EFFECT: invention allows to immobilize acidic high-salt ammonium and iron-containing LRW of the average activity level, which contain actinides and fission products of nuclear fuel.
