FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection, particularly to conditioning of liquid radioactive wastes (LRW) including boron-containing wastes by cementing. Cementing of said wastes is performed with the help of electromagnetic processing in vortex layer with ferromagnetic bodies of revolution and subsequent product solidification. Said ferromagnetic bodies of revolution represent fine-dispersed or nano-dispersed iron oxide powders introduced in initial liquid radioactive wastes in amount of at least 5 wt %. Then, radioactive wastes are subjected to electromagnetic processing in vortex layer and mixing with Portland cement at solution-to-cement ratio of at least 0.6. Said ferromagnetic bodies of revolution represent fine-dispersed or nano-dispersed iron oxide powders introduced in initial liquid radioactive wastes sized to 30-50 mcm and 30-80 nm, respectively, while liquid radioactive wastes are boron-bearing fluid wastes with total content of salt of up to 500 g/dm3. Electromagnetic processing is conducted in vortex layer for at least 30 seconds.
EFFECT: accelerated solidification, higher strength of cement matrix.
