FIELD: agriculture; machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural machine building. Maize snapping unit consists of an upper, middle and lower pairs of conveyor belts arranged in the same vertical plane and made in the form of endless contours. Upper and lower pairs of conveyor belts are inclined in the direction of movement of the maize combine harvester in a counterclockwise direction at different angles to the horizon. Middle pair of conveyor belts is biased towards the movement of the maize combine harvester and is inclined at an angle to the horizon in a clockwise direction. Snapping unit is fixed to the swept frame of the maize combine harvester, it has an individual electric drive and is adjustable to the width of the aisles.
EFFECT: snapping unit reduces the damages done to maize cobs during harvest.
