FIELD: agriculture; machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agricultural engineering, mainly to corn-harvesters, and is intended to increase the degree of shucking corns. Apparatus for separating the cobs of corn from the stems contains two grooved drums 1, which are rotatably mounted to each other, and the cobs-separating plates 2 installed above them, which contain in their middle part from the inner sides additional vertical removable plates 3 equipped with vertical pointed removable cutting elements. Latter project above the surface of the cobs-separating plates 2 to a height smaller than the thickness of the shuck of corn at the base, and are installed along the cob moving direction in the horizontal plane at an inclination angle ϕ, smaller than the angle of friction ϕfr of the cob in the shuck on the material of the plates, which contributes to better trimming the shuck. Over the plates 2 there are feeding chains 5 with legs 6 intended for transporting single cobs. Step t of the cutting elements is smaller than the length of the contact zone of the cob with the cob-separating plates provides the possibility of cutting the shuck at the base of the cob.
EFFECT: use of the proposed invention in comparison with the known devices of a similar purpose substantially increases the degree of shucking corns and the quality of their rend off from the stem, while the simplicity of the proposed device makes it easy to remove dull blades with subsequent replacement or sharpening.
