FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automation of rolling production and can be used in automatic tension control systems of rolled strip on continuous hot rolling mills. Method includes turning the frame of the loop holder with electric drive, the predetermined torque on the shaft being formed by setting the current limit value of the electric drive in proportion to the angle of rotation of the frame as a sum of components determined by the weight of the unbalanced parts of the looper structure, the weight of the rolled strip and the tension of the rolled strip. In this case, the temperature of rolled strip is measured, by which the value of the bending moment of the strip is determined, additionally taken into account at a given moment on the shaft of the electric drive.

EFFECT: use of invention allows to increase stability and trouble-free rolling of the strip by more precisely adjusting its tension.
