FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of material properties study by calorimetric measurements and can be used in bomb calorimeters to determine the calorific value of combustible gases. Offered method of determining the specific volumetric heat of combustion (VHC) of natural fuel gas in a bomb calorimeter, including preliminary measurement of the volume of a calorimetric bomb, preliminary determination of the energy equivalent of the calorimeter, filling the calorimeter with the gas being analyzed, the subsequent filling of the bomb with compressed oxygen, installation of a bomb in a calorimeter, burning of gas in a bomb, and calorimetric measurement of the released amount of heat. Method is carried out using the proposed device to fill the calorimetric bomb with combustible gas. Preliminary determination of the energy equivalent of the calorimeter is carried out by burning a calibration gas in a calorimetric bomb with a known specific VHC. All operations when determining the energy equivalent of the calorimeter and when determining the specific VHC of the analyzed gas are similar. Method makes it possible to perform a preliminary volume measurement of the calorimeter bomb with an error greater than the required error in determining the specific VHC. In the bomb before refueling with the help of proposed device analyzed (or calibrated) gas, a known volume of water is poured, the bomb is vacuumed, leaving v parts of air and water vapor from their total volume V in the bomb, let the combustible gas in larger volume than V, and repeat the vacuum operation followed by the filling of the bomb with a combustible gas n times, until the fraction of the remaining air with water vapor in the bomb d, calculated by the formula d=(v/V)n, will not become less desirable, then a bomb with gas and water is thermostatted, the temperature of the bomb is determined from the temperature of the thermostat, the gas pressure in it is determined, the partial pressure of saturated water vapor over the temperature of the bomb, calculate the value of a part of the volume of the bomb filled with gas, as the difference between the volume of the bomb and the volume of pre-filled water, burn the gas and calorimetrically measure the heat of its combustion.
