FIELD: medicine; dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely dentistry, and can be used to determine the effectiveness of the chewing process. To do this, a sample of food particles smaller than 1 mm in size is produced, which is obtained by wet screening through a sieve with a mesh size of less than 1 mm. Then the laser radiation diffraction analysis is carried out on the particles of the disperse phase on the laser analyzer in the range of the determined parameters with effective diameter from 0.10 to 1,000 mcm. To do this, a suspension of the test sample is prepared. Background intensity is then measured by filling the measuring cuvet with 12 ml of liquid and placing it in the cell of the instrument. Necessary concentration of the suspension in the cuvet is selected according to the illumination intensity of the scattered light, so that the illumination intensity is within 35–75 % of the scale size. Results are analyzed. With the detected particle size from 100 mcm to 1,000 mcm, the efficiency of the chewing process is judged.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to accelerate the determination of the effectiveness of the chewing process with increasing accuracy of the measurement.
