SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and can be used in agroecology to determine the nitrification ability of soils. To do this, composting of soil in a thermostat and determining the amount of nitrates accumulated in the soil as a result of nitrification processes are carried out. Composting of soil samples is carried out in open vessels under conditions of high relative humidity in the working section of the thermostat.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to assess the supply of agricultural plants with soil mineral nitrogen, assess pollution and biological activity of soils.
