FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and is meant for determination of soil specific conductivity. Electric conductivity of the soil is determined to define specific conductivity. Electric conductivity of soil is determined in the soil sample without using water extract. For this purpose, the soil sample is prepared by means of drying up to the air-dried state. The prepared sample is chopped and sifted through a sieve with cells diameter of 2 mm. Then part of the soil sample is put in the trough of the conductometric device, the said trough being made of dielectric plastic. Note that mass of the soil sample is equal to the size of the trough. The sample is wetted up to the moisture the of 30 % corresponding to minimal moisture capacity, two electrodes are put in the soil sample over the ends of the trough, the surface of the said electrodes being equal to the area of end surfaces of the trough. Then the electrodes are connected to clips of the condumetric device to determine electric conductivity of soil. Specific conductivity is calculated by dividing electric conductivity value by the volume of the soil sample.

EFFECT: rational usage of fertilisers on soils with different levels of moisture.
