FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to a pharmaceutical composition for treating rheumatoid arthritis and a method for treating rheumatoid arthritis. Pharmaceutical composition contains, as an active ingredient, an effective amount of monoacetyldiacylglycerol and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Monoacetyldiacylglycerols of the invention effectively inhibit the phosphorylation of STAT-3, which is considered as a therapeutic target in the case of rheumatoid arthritis.
EFFECT: being effective therapeutic agents and non-toxic, the monoacetyldiacylglycerols of the invention do not have the side effects of the drugs currently used for treating rheumatoid arthritis.
