FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to electrical measuring equipment and can be used to quickly determine the single-phase ground fault location in distribution networks with isolated or compensated neutral. For this end, a sequential generation of high-frequency sinusoidal signal is provided in the damaged and undamaged phase, followed by the determination of the resonance frequency of each of them. Based on the data learned, the distance to the fault location is calculated by the expression: where ƒ1 – resonant frequency of one of the undamaged phases of the line, Hz; ƒ2 – frequency determined for the damaged phase of the line, Hz; l – the length of the undamaged phase of the outgoing transmission line, km.
EFFECT: technical result is the expansion of the functional capabilities on the basis of the single-phase fault location on the ground in the power line at any transient resistance at the point of damage, which does not require a permanently installed complex system for its implementation.
