SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of enrichment of non-metallic ore minerals, mainly kaolins and ores containing mineral kaolinite, in an aqueous medium and can be used to produce concentrates suitable for use in the ceramic, metallurgical and construction industries. Method for enriching the kaolin raw material involves suspending it in water and separating the slurry, releasing the kaolin concentrate. Kaolin raw material is preliminarily subjected to hydrothermal treatment in an autoclave at a temperature of 180–265 °C and a pressure of 1–5 MPa, after the pressure is released and the suspension is cooled to 40–60 °C by adding water is adjusted to a solids content in the suspension to 30–50 %. Resulting slurry is directed to separation by one or more known methods in fineness on a hydraulic screen, density on a hydroclassifier and magnetic properties on a magnetic separator.

EFFECT: change in the physicochemical properties and structure of the initial kaolinite, leading to a decrease in viscosity, which provides the possibility of its subsequent separation.
