FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the processing of solid fuels – coals containing an ash phase, represented mainly by clay minerals, mainly by kaolinite, and can be used in the coal industry when enriching fine fractions of coal – so-called coal slurries. Method for enriching clay-containing coal slurries comprises separation of coal slurries to produce a coal concentrate and ash fraction. Initial coal slurries before the separation are subjected to preliminary hydrothermal treatment in an autoclave at a temperature of 180–265 °C and a pressure of 1–5 MPa, cooled to 40–60 °C. Coal slurry is separated by flotation. Kaolinite ash is separated as an ash fraction. After cooling, the slurries are diluted with water to a solid content of 30–50 %.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of flotation separation into coal concentrate and ash fraction.
