SUBSTANCE: invention relates to changing an emotion icon in a chat interface. Method comprises: detecting whether an instant message received by a chat interface of an instant messaging tool contains a first emotion icon that is allowed to be changed; if the first instant message contains a first emotion icon, querying a first emotion-score list to determine a first score corresponding to the first emotion icon, where first emotion-score list contains a plurality of forms of the first emotion icon and scores corresponding to the first emotion icons; querying a second emotion-score list to determine a second score corresponding to a second emotion icon, where the second emotion icon is configured to change the first emotion icon, and second emotion-score list contains a plurality of forms of the second emotion icon and scores corresponding to the second emotion icons; adding up the first score and the second score to obtain a score result; and querying the first emotion-score list for changing the first emotion icon into a form corresponding to the score result.
EFFECT: technical result is enabling dynamic change in emotion icons.
