FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to overflow valve (10) for a gaseous fluid in a pneumatic brake system of motor vehicle, having piston (26) which is pre-stressed by means of compression spring (28), which is movable along longitudinal central axis (14) and located in cylinder (16, 18) of overflow valve (10). Moreover, this overflow valve is provided with sealing ring (42) which is arranged on piston lower side (40) for ensuring radial and axial sealing. Radial outer side (48) of sealing ring (42) bears against cylinder (16, 18) on the inner side forming the radial press fit. Sealing ring (42) in the closed position of overflow valve (10) rests against valve seat (44) with the shape of hollow cylinder due to the prestress of spring (28). Sealing ring (42) in the open position of overflow valve (10) is retracted from valve seat (44) after exceeding the predetermined fluid pressure limit and forms annular gap (82) in order to release flow path (84) for the fluid. Sealing ring (42) simultaneously provides both the necessary axial sealing with respect to valve seat (44) in closed position, and radial sealing of piston (26) with respect to cylinder (16) or cylinder liner (18), thereby eliminating the need for additional sealing elements.
EFFECT: overflow valve for the gaseous fluid is provided.
