FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method for producing a catalyst system includes: providing a catalyst composition comprising a solvent and a single-site catalyst component, the solvent comprising at least one hydrocarbon selected from the group consisting of toluene, xylene, benzene, hexane and combinations thereof; heating the inert gas to a temperature higher than the boiling point of the solvent selected from the group, consisting of toluene, xylene, benzene, hexane and combinations thereof, ranging from 20% to 35% when the temperature is expressed on a Celsius scale; and spray drying the catalyst composition in the presence of the inert gas to form a spray-dried catalyst system, comprising a single-site catalyst component, the spray-dried catalyst system having an increase in productivity in a polymerisation reaction of at least 10% compared to the other spray-dried catalyst system, obtained from the same catalyst composition using a method that includes heating the inert gas to a temperature of at least 160°C.

EFFECT: method of producing a catalyst system with increased productivity and a method for polymerisation of olefins in the presence of a catalyst system obtained using said method are disclosed.
