FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the metallothermic production of tantalum by reduction from a complex fluoride bonding in a hot solution of halogen salts of alkali metals. Device comprises a reaction crucible placed in a retort with a heat insulated lid and jets for scaling reagents heated by furnace equipped with a forced air cooling system, a system for regulating and maintaining the pressure of the inert gas therein, and a stirrer bar made to move along the axis of rotation, and a thermo-measuring element made to immerse in the reactional hot solution. Reaction crucible is made of steel, with removable and lined nickel and tantalum on it, with a cap on top of the reaction crucible and a screen installed on the retort lid above the crucible.
EFFECT: provides increased convenience in maintenance and repair.
