SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a humidifying apparatus for generating a flow of humid air and an air flow for dispersing humid air within premises, such as a room, office, and the like. Humidifying apparatus comprises: a housing defining a water reservoir; a water tank mounted on the housing for supplying water to the reservoir; air flow generating means for generating an air flow over water in the reservoir; an air outlet for emitting at least part of the air flow; atomising means for atomising water in the reservoir; irradiating means for irradiating water in the reservoir with ultraviolet radiation; and guide means for guiding a flow of water entering the reservoir adjacent to the irradiating means prior to its atomisation by the atomising means.

EFFECT: this allows to increase the compactness of the humidifying apparatus without reducing the effectiveness of antibacterial treatment.
