FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to lithium-silicate glass-ceramic, methods of its production and application. Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a lithium-silicate glass-ceramic comprising a pentavalent metal oxide, selected from Nb2O5, Ta2O5 and mixtures thereof, and from 11.0 to 21.0 wt % Li2O, and including from 0 to less than 2.0 wt % K2O, in which (a) the initial glass comprising glass-ceramic components is subjected to thermal treatment at a temperature of 480–500 °C for a period of 10 minutes to 120 minutes to form a glass with germs that are suitable for forming lithium disilicate crystals, and (b) glass with germs is subjected to heat treatment at a temperature of 650–750 °C for a period of 10 minutes to 120 minutes to form a glass-ceramic with lithium disilicate as the main crystalline phase. Also disclosed is a lithium-silicate glass-ceramic, obtained using said method, and the use of such glass ceramic as a dental material, in particular, for the restoration of teeth and for the manufacture of materials for restoration of teeth.
EFFECT: implementation of said method enables to obtain glass-ceramics with lithium disilicate suitable for use in dentistry said lithium disilicate being the main crystalline phase, as a result of short thermal treatments at sufficiently low temperatures of nucleation and crystallisation processes.
