FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of making a restoration from a workpiece consisting of lithium silicate glass ceramic or containing lithium silicate glass ceramics, and using a workpiece obtained using said method. Method involves melting the initial lithium silicate glass, cooling the glass mass quickly and grinding it into powder. At least two layers of powder made from initial lithium-silicate glass from different compositions are loaded into the mould in layers. After the first layer is loaded, its surface is smoothed and then structured so that said first layer, when viewed along the surface, differs in its height from one section to another so that protrusions separated by depressions are formed. Then, as a second layer, the layer is loaded with a layer having a composition different from the composition of the first layer, or after adding the first layer, an additional layer of powder is loaded into the mould, wherein the material of the additional layer is the same as the second layer, the material of the first layer is mixed with the material of the additional layer to form an intermediate layer and then a second layer is loaded into the mould. After introduction of layers, they are pressed to form mass and then subject to sintering with formation of workpiece. Dental restoration is made of the workpiece by means of mechanical treatment. Composition of initial glass contains, or consists of the following, in percentage by weight: SiO2 57.5–60.5; Li2O 14.0–16.0; ZrO2 9.0–10.5; P2O5 5.0–6.0; Al2O3 2.5–3.0; K2O 1.0–1.5; CeO2 0.5–1.0; B2O3 2.5–3.0; Na2O 0.1–2.0; V2O5 0.1–0.7; Er2O3 0–1.0; Y2O3 0.3–0.5; MnO2 0–0.2.

EFFECT: development of the method using a workpiece in order to obtain dental restorations of the required dimensions without difficulties, at the same time by means of simple measures the required colouring and/or light transmission can be obtained, as well as absence of the need for additional stages of heat treatment.
