FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the biochemical denitrification of hypersaline sewage waters. Biochemical method of denitrification of the hypersaline composition of sewage waters, the concentration of nitrate in which is at least 0.1% w/v, and the chloride concentration is at least 5% (w/v), includes the use of a community of halophilic and/or salt-tolerant bacteria, wherein the community is selected from a mixture of sludge consisting of 85 to 95% by weight of the activated sludge obtained in the denitrification step in the routine treatment of municipal wastewater, and about 5 to 15% by weight of the salt-containing sludge, obtained from the crystallization pond of the "solar" saltworks. Il includes bacteria of at least the following genera: Pseudomonas, Bacillus and Halomonas.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to remove nitrates rapidly in the presence of a high chloride concentration in the treatment of sewage waters, containing inorganic substances due to the combination bacteria.
