SUBSTANCE: invention relates to execution of a virtual machine. System for executing a virtual machine instance includes an executing environment arranged for creating a virtual machine instance. Virtual machine instance comprises an instance authorisation unit for receiving an instance authorisation credential, wherein the instance authorisation credential is uniquely associated with the virtual machine instance. Data key unit is arranged for generating a request for a data key, based on the instance authorisation credential associated with the virtual machine instance. Decryption unit is arranged for decrypting a data item based on the data key. Key server system is arranged for issuing keys to a virtual machine instance. Instance authorisation providing unit is arranged for providing the instance authorisation credential to the virtual machine instance.
EFFECT: technical result is an improvement in the manipulation of a virtual machine instance.
