FIELD: fire safety.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a refractory industry, in particular to the production of refractory plastic masses intended to seal a gap between the lining of a steel-pouring ladle and the beading of a ladle cover, seals in the joints of the refractory masonry of thermal units, repair and restoration of the destroyed areas of refractory masonry. Refractory plastic mass contains the following components, by weight: mixture of synthetic binders 10.0–14.0, refractory clay 8.0–12.0, catalyst of thermoreative binder 0.8–1.2, fractionated aluminosilicate aggregate – the rest. Mixture of synthetic binders contains a binder thermoplastic product of heat treatment of coal with a coke residue of at least 30 % – 30–45 % by weight, a synthetic thermoreactive binder – 35–55 % by weight, polyethylene glycol – 10–35 % by weight. Aluminosilicate aggregate (alumina with quartzite or quartz, calcined bauxite, corundum) has the following fractional composition, %: 30–50 – fraction 0.0–0.3 mm, 10–20 – fraction 0.3–1.0 mm, 30–50 – fraction 1.0–5.0 mm.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing porosity, reducing shrinkage during thermal cyclic operation of the refractory mass, expanding the temperature range of the mass survivability, and increasing the strength of the refractory mass in all sections of the working volume in the metallurgical unit over a wide range of temperatures.
