FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to content category determining methods based on templates using an application programming interface used to create applications for users with disabilities. Disclosed is a method to identify the categories of content that is downloaded and displayed by applications on mobile devices using the application programming interface, which is used while creating applications for users with disabilities (Accessibility API), in which: installing a security application, which includes at least an interception tool, as the system service of the operating system on the mobile device for users with disabilities (Accessibility Service); intercepting by means of an interceptor using the said application programming interface on the display of the mobile device downloaded and displayed content relating to the application, with which the user is interacting, at that the content contains at least one element of a graphical user interface (GUI); forming a template of said content by means of an interceptor, at that the template contains a mutual disposition, type and properties of graphical user interface elements; transmitting the said template to the categorization tool; using the categorization tool comparing the said template with a set of templates previously formed using said templates of applications programming interface, which categories are identified, and based on the results of the comparison, at least one category of said content is identified.

EFFECT: technical result is ensuring identification of the content category, at that, the applications programming interface is used to identify the category, used during creation of applications for users with disabilities.
