FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of heat-resistant parts of power and chemical plants. Aluminum plate is placed between the plates of low-carbon steel. Explosion welding is carried out at a given detonation velocity of explosive charge. Explosive charge height and the welding gaps between the plates in the package are selected from the condition for obtaining a predetermined rate of impact of the plates. Performing heat treatment of the welded three-layer workpiece and its cooling down with the furnace down to a predefined temperature. After holding at this temperature, cooling in air is carried out, leading to spontaneous separation of aluminum from the low-carbon steel layers by the intermetallic diffusion layers with the formation at that, of continuous heat-resistant coating of the aluminum-iron system while on the surface of each of the two steel plates.
EFFECT: method provides for simultaneous production of heat-resistant intermetallic coatings on two steel plates of low-carbon steel during one explosion welding operation.
