FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce heat-resistant coatings in the manufacturing of parts of power and chemical plants. Composing a package with a symmetrical arrangement of low-carbon steel with a thickness of at least 3 mm between two aluminum plates with a thickness of 1.5–2 mm. Identical explosive charges are placed on package both sides and performing a simultaneous explosion welding. Performing heat treatment of the welded three-layer workpiece to form the continuous intermetallic diffusion layers between aluminum layers and a low-carbon steel layer with subsequent cooling down in the air, leading to the spontaneous separation of aluminum layers from the steel layer along intermetallic diffusion layers with the formation of continuous coatings from intermetallides of the aluminum-iron system.

EFFECT: heat resistant coatings with high service properties are produced simultaneously from both sides of the low-carbon steel plate in one explosion welding operation.
