Absorbent layer (70, 170, 270, 370, 470) may comprise at least one recess (90). At least one recess (90) receives at least one embossing (64) in a nested configuration. In some embodiments embossing (64) may comprise form (78) of intersecting cuts.
EFFECT: absorbent article with a three-dimensional retaining structure is provided.
