FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: water-borne alkyd pentaphthalic lacquer VPF-050 is produced by the interaction of triglycerides of fatty acids of semi-drying oil, polyhydric alcohol and aromatic dicarboxylic anhydride at the molar ratio of 1.0:3.2-3.7:4.2-4.7, respectively. Further, the lacquer base is dissolved in the mixture of ethyl cellosolve, n-butyl alcohol and isopropyl alcohol at the molar ratio of 1.00:0.80-0.85:0.63-0.68, respectively, to produce a hydroxyl-containing alkyde with a mass fraction of non-volatile substances of 67-73 wt % and an acid number of 35-45 mg KOH/g. This alkyd is neutralized with an aqueous solution of ammonia or triethylamine to pH of 8.0-9.0%, ensuring full compatibility of the water-borne lacquer with water.
EFFECT: simplifying the technology and improving the environment by reducing the content of organic solvents and their emissions into the atmosphere, eliminating the step of introducing adipic acid and reducing the synthesis time by 8-10 hours while reducing energy consumption during hot drying of the coating with and possible implementation of cold drying.
